The players laid a bouquet of flowers at the training ground on Thursday morning in tribute to former Pools star Michael Maidens.
Saturday will mark six years since Michael was tragically killed in a road accident and, as a mark of respect, the squad gathered to make a tribute at their memorial bench at the training ground.
Michael’s family will be in attendance at The Vic this weekend for the game with Plymouth Argyle.
“I can’t believe it’s been so long since that terrible tragedy,” wrote skipper Antony Sweeney in his column for Saturday’s Matchday Programme.
“At this time of year our thoughts always turn to Michael, along with his friends and family who we welcome to The Vic.
“We made our own tribute to Michael at the training ground and I am sure that you, the fans, will have him in your thoughts too.
“Gone but never forgotten.”
Pools retired the number 25 shirt that Michael wore in tribute to the 20-year-old.
