Colin Cooper praised the players, his staff and the fans after in-form Pools enjoyed a brilliant 3-0 victory over Exeter City at St James’ Park.
Goals from Jack Baldwin, Luke James and Jack Compton saw Cooper’s side race to their third victory on the road in a week, and inflict only the second home defeat of Exeter’s campaign so far.
“I think that was an outstanding away performance,” Cooper told Pools Player.
“We all agreed at half time that they started the better and had us on the back foot but Jack’s goal set us up and from then on in I think we did terrifically well all afternoon.
“Once we got our noses in front it knocked the stuffing out of them and from then on we gobble up everything they had to offer – it’s maybe greedy because we’ve scored three but we had a few other good opportunities.
“After two good away wins you have to be guarded about being over-confident but I thought the work ethic, some of the football and some of the movement today was really good.
“It’s rounded off what’s been a really, really good week so all credit to the players and all credit to the staff because we’re working really hard and it’s just got a good feel to it at the minute.
“I have to say thank you to every single person who made the journey to support us today; the 150 that were here are the lucky ones who have seen us sparkle away again, now we have to do that for the people back at The Vic next week.”
