Welcome to our very first School of the Week
Pools are now inviting local schools along to The Vic on a matchday, offering the chance for pupils to play a big role in a match.
And first up as our School of the Week is Greatham Church of England School.
Pupils from the school will form a guard of honour as the team run out onto the pitch, with 10 flag bearers, while another 11 pupils will become player escorts and run out onto the pitch with the players.
Here we find out a little more about our very first School of the Week…
“Greatham Church of England School is a Voluntary Controlled primary co-educational school for boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 11 years. In addition the school has an integrated nursery / reception class.
“The school is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac at the southern end of Greatham Village, with countryside and woodland on one side and industry, at a distance, on the other.
“We are a Christian School committed to providing a secure, welcoming, happy, stimulating and challenging environment.
“We encourage all children to value success and excellence, developing their skills, abilities, confidence and self-esteem so that they may grow into independent and responsible members of society.
“Children enjoy a wide range of extra-curricular activities such as Football, Street Dance and Multi-Sports. Our football team are part of the small schools league and compete against other small schools in a cup competition.”
