Colin Cooper has revealed that he is hoping to extend Matty Dolan’s stay at Victoria Park beyond the weekend’s game against Northampton Town.
The midfielder’s third one-month loan stint is due to expire following Saturday’s fixture but the Pools boss has admitted that he would like to keep the 21-year-old at the Club in to the New Year.
“Obviously Middlesbrough have a lot on their plate at the minute so it’s been quite difficult,” Cooper explained.
“But I’ve spoken to people at the Club and hopefully we’ll be able to get something sorted with Matty and keep him with us through Christmas.
“I think he’s enjoying his time here but he’s a Middlesbrough player so it’s their call and we have to see what develops between now and next week.”
Dolan has made fifteen appearances for Pools since joining the Club back in September.
