Pools Set For Friday Night Experiment

21 May 2013

Fans happy for Club to look in to playing a couple of games on Friday evening next term.

Pools could be set to experiment with a small number of Friday night home fixtures next season following results of a recent fans vote.

We asked supporters to have their say on whether they would like to see a return of some Friday night fixtures during the new campaign and you responded in your numbers.

Of the many fans who got in touch, 70% said they would be in favour of the Club looking in to playing some of their games on a Friday evening at The Vic.

"The results were really interesting and we're glad we took the time to ask our supporters," explained Chief Executive Russ Green.

"Obviously we're not talking about moving all of our fixtures to a Friday or anything radical like that - but we could now look to trial a maximum of two games next season and see how popular they prove.

"During my time at the Club we've had some excellent results and atmospheres at Friday night games so I can see the reasoning on giving it a go again."

The Club will now wait for the fixtures to be released on Wednesday 19th June at which point they will pinpoint potential opposition for Friday night fixtures.

There is no guarantee that we will be able to move any games because we require agreement from opponents and the relevant authorities, but we will look in to it following your feedback.
