John Hughes has dedicated his Manager of the Month award to the players, staff and supporters who have made him feel welcome since he moved to Hartlepool in November. The Pools boss was handed the top award in League One for February after a dazzling month of football saw his team close the gap on those above them in a bid to climb out of the bottom four.
And while Hughes is delighted to see the Club gain recognition for those efforts, he admits there is still plenty of work to be done in the coming weeks.
"I'll be honest, I'd swap it right now for the League One Manager of the Month for March!" he told Pools Player.
"That would mean we'd had another right good month and it's going to have to be that way.
"This award isn't just for me though; it's for everyone who has made me welcome at Hartlepool, from the staff to the supporters to the people in the office - we're a big family and we've all played our part.
"I could put that trophy in the dressing room and any one of the players could take it home because since Christmas they have been exceptional; all the credit goes to these guys, I'm just at the forefront of it.
"It's nice to get the recognition for all our hard work and the success at the Club so let's build on that now and keep the momentum going."
