Preview: Doncaster Rovers v Pools

1 March 2013

We bring you the definitive guide to Saturday's League One game against Doncaster Rovers at The Keepmoat Stadium (3pm kick-off).

npower League One
Doncaster Rovers v Hartlepool United
Saturday 2nd March 2013
Kick-off: 3pm

The Opposition
Doncaster Rovers moved to the summit of the League One table on Tuesday night with a 2-1 win over Shrewsbury Town at Greenhous Meadow.

It perhaps sums up the tight nature of the promotion shake-up that Brian Flynn's men hit the top with their first win in six games - and only four points separate them from seventh-placed Bournemouth.

It's been on their travels where Rovers have been most dangerous this term having won 11 of their 17 away games this term - a record not bettered across any of the four divisions.

However, on home soil it's been a slightly different story and no side in the top seven of League One have lost more than the seven Doncaster have on their own patch.

Head To Head
Saturday will be the 97th time that the two sides have met in competitive action and the wins have been pretty evenly shared, with Rovers just ahead on 36 from Pools' 33.

This weekend will be only Pools' second trip to Rovers' new home at The Keepmoat Stadium with the first occasion ending in 2-0 defeat back in January 2008.

It's a fixture which usually produces goals - the last 0-0 draw was back 1978/79 and of the 30 fixtures since only five have ended all-square.
