John Hughes and Peter Hartley have been nominated for February’s npower League One Manager and Player of the Month respectively.
Pools were unbeaten throughout February, picking up a total of 14 points from a possible 18.
And, after seeing his side lift from the bottom of League One for the first time since October 2012, Hughes has put his name firmly in the hat to be named Manager of the Month for February.
Joining Hughes in the draw for League One Manager of Month are Yeovil Town boss Gary Johnson and Dean Smith of Walsall.
Pools are in with a chance of making it a double celebration as skipper Peter Hartley is nominated as League One Player of the Month for February.
The central defender was a key figure for Pools last month, leading a back line that conceded just four goals while finding the net with two of his own goals to help his side pick up the points.
Hartley’s strike at home to Notts County saw Pools seal a 2-1 win while his goal against Leyton Orient set the team on the way to an important 2-1 victory.
The Hartlepool-born defender goes up against Walsall winger Fabian Brandy and Yeovil Town striker Paddy Madden for the award.
The winners will be announced on the morning of Friday 15th March.
