Nissan Donate £1,000 For Monkey Walk

12 March 2013

Sponsorship figure given big lift as local car plant pledges support for H'Angus.

H'Angus the Monkey's charity walk was given a boost at the weekend when car manufacturer Nissan made a huge donation for his efforts.

Michael Evans - who plays H'Angus - works at the Nissan plant in Sunderland and told bosses about his plans to walk from the Club's Durham training ground to Victoria Park for Saturday's game with Yeovil Town.

Not only did the company organise for H'Angus to utilise an electric car as a support vehicle during the 17-mile trek, but they also pledged £1,000 in sponsorship.

All the money raised from the challenge will be donated direct to Prostate Cancer UK, which is The Football League's Official Charity Partner for 2012/13.

Dave Baldridge, representing Nissan, was at the game on Saturday to hand over the cheque to H'Angus on his arrival at The Vic.

If you would like to sponsor H'Angus you still can by visiting his donations page at
