Baldwin Knee Injury Worries Hughes

5 March 2013

Pools hoping for good news as young star hurt in home draw with Colchester.

John Hughes faces an anxious wait to discover the seriousness of Jack Baldwin's injury after the youngster was forced off during the first half of Tuesday's draw with Colchester United.

The 19-year-old fell awkwardly on his right knee when challenging for the ball and was helped from the field by medical staff to be replaced by Nathan Luscombe.

Hughes revealed that it will not be known until Wednesday the earliest how severe the damage is but he's crossing his fingers for good news.

"It seems as though when he jumped for the ball he got a wee bump and as he landed his knee has twisted on him," Hughes explained to Pools Player

"It looked like a bad one but he's in good hands with Buster (Physio, Ian Gallagher) so we'll let it settle down overnight and have it looked at in the morning.

"Hopefully we won't be missing him for any great length of time but we'll wait and see."
