Pools to host Rochdale in Youth Alliance Cup tie at Chester-le-Street.Pools Youth Team return to action for the first time in 2013 on Saturday when they host Rochdale in the Second Round of the Youth Alliance Cup at Chester-le-Street (12noon kick-off).
John Hewitson's men will be raring to go having been without a game since their FA Youth Cup exit to Huddersfield Town on 11th December.
Dale will form a strong opposition for the weekend cup tie and underlined their talent by knocking highly-rated Crewe Alexandra out of the FA Youth Cup last month.
But Hewitson is certain his players can get the result they require if they show the right attitude and commitment on Saturday.
"The mindset will have to be right because Rochdale will give us a difficult challenge," he explained.
"But it's up to the lads to make sure they step up to the plate and show the right desire and determination - if they do, then I'm certain we can win the game.
"It would be nice to get through the tie because we got to this stage last season and it's always good to show improvement the following year.
"The players will all be excited for the game after the little break we've had so I'm looking forward to it and hopefully we get a positive performance."
Kerry Hedley and Ben Wignall are both ruled out with knee injuries, while Dan Turner and Dominic Scott will miss the game through illness.
