Pools are appealing for supporters to come along to Victoria Park and help clear snow from the stands and surrounding areas ahead of Saturday's game against Colchester United.Weather conditions in Hartlepool during the early part of the week have been much worse than forecast and there is now around three inches of snow on the pitch.
Currently the snow is forming a natural barrier against the plummeting temperatures and will be left on the pitch, but work is needed to make good the areas surrounding the playing surface.
"We desperately want this game on and we will be doing everything in our power to make sure that happens," explained Chief Executive Russ Green.
"While the weather has been worse than was predicted and the forecast is changing all the time, we would call on fans to come and help us out if they can spare the time.
"It's vital that we make safe the stands and other areas in and around the ground and, as well as hoping for volunteers to help staff, we have also been in touch with the Council for their assistance.
"Obviously it's crucial for us to get the game on and so anything you can do to help would be greatly appreciated."
Any fans who can help are asked to report to Main Reception at Victoria Park any time during office hours, bringing their own snow shovel if possible.
