Pools have today offered a professional contract to young defender Dan Jones. The 18-year-old has caught the eye of the Pools management team while playing regularly for both the Youth Team and the Reserves this season.
Most comfortable in the centre of defence or at left-back, Jones also has the ability to operate on the left side of midfield where his sweet left foot can prove a real threat to the opposition.
Just last week the Bishop Auckland born teenager scored a long-distance screamer for the Youth Team in their 3-3 draw with Lincoln City at Chester-le-Street.
"Dan is a player who has made terrific progress over the last year," explained Academy Manager John Hewitson.
"He struggled a bit with injury last season but has made big strides since then and has shown a fantastic attitude and determination to succeed.
"He has good pace, great awareness, he's keen to learn and we just hope that he can continue progressing in the future the way he has in the last year."
Fellow Youth Team players Aaron Brown, Lewis Green and Ryan Tuck have been released from the Club.
