Pools will host League Two outfit Bradford City at Victoria Park in the Second Round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
Neale Cooper's men were given a bye in Round One and were paired with the Bantams at the second stage in this morning's draw on Soccer AM.
Phil Parkinson's men were also given a bye in the First Round and currently lie 12th in League Two having won two and lost two of their league games so far.
Pools last met Bradford at the same stage of the same competition in 2010 and came out 1-0 winners thanks to a second half goal from Leon McSweeney.
Ties are due to be played the week commencing 8th October.
