Neale Cooper was left stunned after seeing his side go down 5-0 at Preston North End this evening.
After seeing his team put in a top performance at Bournemouth just three days’ ago, Cooper was expecting more from his players this evening,
“I’m shocked actually,” Cooper told Pools Player.
“After the match on Saturday I couldn’t have said anything better about the players and I said to them today let’s not get caught on the ball or give them anything that would give the crowd a lift.
“And I thought we started well but then a mad two minutes and we’re 2-0 down.
“We made a change at half time to freshen it up a little bit and I thought we looked better again, better than the first half but we had chances and we never took them.”
And after seeing his side disappoint again this evening, Cooper admitted he will consider making changes ahead of Saturday’s match with Shrewsbury Town at The Vic,
“Whoever is playing this weekend, I don’t care who it is in the changing room not one of them better come and see me moaning if they’re not playing.
“I’d rather put a kid in with a bit of fight and someone that stands up to people. I didn’t see that and that really hurt me tonight.
“They’ll be in at 9am tomorrow to watch the game.
“Usually they are off on a Wednesday but you need to deserve days off and they don’t deserve a day off after that.”
