Wilson Wary Of Victoria Park Visit

2 October 2012

We get the thoughts of Sheffield United's former Pools boss ahead of this evening's game.

Sheffield United boss Danny Wilson has warned his players they will not have it all their own way when they make the trip to Victoria Park tonight (7.45pm kick-off).

Wilson knows from first hand experience how difficult it is for visiting teams coming to Pools having been in the hotseat at The Vic between 2006 and 2008.

And he has insisted that his side must make sure they're on their game if they expect to head back to South Yorkshire with a result this evening.

"Hartlepool haven't had a good start to the season, they have conceded a lot of goals and hopefully we can take advantage if they are low on confidence," he told Sheffield United's Official Website.

"What I will promise everyone, though, is going up to Victoria Park is as tough a place as you will go to in League One.

"It has always been a hard place to get a result. Tuesday will be no different, regardless of Hartlepool's position at the bottom end of the table.

"They have brought in big Stevie Howard; he has had a terrific career, scoring goals throughout, so we must respect him.

"We don't expect an easy ride, Hartlepool have several players who, on their day, are very good, including Antony Sweeney, who was there in my time at Victoria Park.

"Jonathan Franks is also a threat so we go there knowing they have players who could hurt us if we aren't switched on."
