Pools Boss Eyes Important Victory

9 October 2012

Neale Cooper is hoping for a Johnstone's Paint Trophy boost tonight when his side host Bradford City in a Second Round tie at Victoria Park (7.30pm).

The Pools boss has been left frustrated after seeing improved displays go unrewarded in the past week but is confident his team can hit back this evening.

"To say it's been hard recently is a understatement, especially after two good performances against Sheffield United and Crewe," Cooper told us.

"I'm looking forward to the game tonight because we want to do well in this competition and hopefully get on an exciting run.

"It also keeps us playing which is good because we want to get back on track after the weekend and hopefully get a boost in confidence.

"Bradford have done well so far and I know that Phil (Parkinson) has a good bunch of boys there so we know it will be difficult.

"But we are looking for a win and a strong performance; it will be difficult but we are looking forward to it a lot."

Cooper has a couple of injury concerns ahead of the fixture and has admitted he will be forced to make some changes to his starting line-up.

"We've got a couple of injuries because one or two have being playing with knocks or niggles recently so I will have to leave them out.

"But we'll put as strong a team out as we can be because we want to win this game."
