Pools star Luke James is set to hand boss John Hughes a boost by returning to full training on Thursday morning. The 18-year-old has been out for a month after undergoing a double hernia operation but will visit a specialist on Wednesday when he is expected to get the green light to step up his recovery.
James has been undergoing a series of personalised strengthening exercises since the operation and can't wait to get back on the training ground with his team-mates.
"The rehab was meant to be four to six weeks but today is four weeks from the operation, which is brilliant," James told Pools Player.
"I can't thank the physio staff and the surgeon enough because everything they've given me, the stretches and the exercises, have been spot on.
"It's the first time for a while I've had a smile on my face when I was told there was a chance I could train on Thursday so now I just can't wait."
