Coalfields Regeneration Trust

9 November 2012

Home International Tournament

Hartlepool United Community Sports Foundation coaches Liam Nobbs and Chris Burton selected two 14yrs to 16yrs teams from our Coalfields Regeneration Trust projects at East Durham College and Easington Academy to represent Hartlepool in the CRT Midnight League Six-a-Side competition at Port Vale.

The two winning teams from Chesterfield and Hartlepool represented England in the CRT Home International Tournament against teams from Scotland and Wales.

The Finals were held in Sunderland on the 3rd November with the Wales team narrowly winning 2-0 in the final against England.

All participating teams had a great weekend taking part in rock climbing, 3G Swing and archery at an Outward Bound Centre near Hexham and after the finals attended the Sunderland v Aston Villa match to celebrate the weekend of activities.

The regular sessions link in with Police initiatives and allow participants to play in a safe controlled environment and gain qualifications to improve educational standards and help with volunteering.

The areas have been targeted to offer opportunities for young people, which help reduce crime levels and anti-social behaviour.
