Micky attends Mentoring Programme with HUCSF

Ronnie Rowbotham, Education Officer at Hartlepool United Community Sports Foundation, brought some of the children from St. Joseph's Primary School for a tour of Victoria Ground and to meet Micky Barron earlier this week.

The children are taking part in one of the Foundations 'Mentoring Programmes', which help children and their families to develop their social skills and improve self confidence.

"The children take part in a ten week programme, working to earn a special reward. The boys are all big football fans so I thought they'd really enjoy today," Ronnie said.

The children asked Micky about the pressures of being a coach and how he went about raising the player's confidence.

"Micky was wonderful with the children," Ronnie added.

"He really challenged them to think about their own situations and it was a really enjoyable session for all of us."

Children present are: Jake Long, David Animashaun, James Gibson, Kieran Baker, Joseph Bennett with Mrs. Brown.
