Young Keeper Scott Set For Start

15 July 2012

Thigh strain rules Flinders out of opening friendly

Scott Flinders will miss tonight’s game with Telstar due to a slight thigh strain so 16-year-old Dominic Scott is set to start against the Dutch outfit.

Neale Cooper is already without Andy Rafferty who is at home nursing a knee injury so he did not want to risk worsening Flinders’ injury by playing him in this evening’s opening friendly of the trip to Holland.

“Dominic is a young lad who has come in and worked with us since pre season began,” Cooper told Pools Player.

“I’m sure the rest of the boys will help him along tonight but we’re not putting pressure on him at all because he’s a young lad and learning the game.

“I think he’ll be enjoying the experience of being here with us in Holland and he’ll be looking forward to the game.”
