Team News: Pools v Sunderland

27 July 2012

Info from both camps ahead of tonight's game

Pools will be without defenders Jack Baldwin and Paul Johnson for tonight's pre season friendly game with Sunderland at Victoria Park (7.30pm kick-off).

Baldwin was substituted after half an hour of the game at Whitby Town on Wednesday with a gashed ankle, while Johnson is ruled out following treatment to a head injury collected in midweek.

Simon Walton - injured in the accidental collision with Baldwin - needed five stitches in a wound just above his right eye but is hoping to turn out against the Black Cats tonight.

Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill could hand a start to Ryan Noble, the 21-year-old striker who ended last season on loan at Victoria Park.

Noble impressed during the Black Cats pre season trip to South Korea, particularly when he came off the bench to score the winner against Groningen, and could be rewarded with a starting berth this evening.
