Pools boss happy with display against BoroNeale Cooper was happy with another good workout for his team as they drew 2-2 in their latest pre season friendly against Middlesbrough at Victoria Park.
The Pools boss felt his side were a little loose in the goals they conceded but insisted that the positives vastly outweighed any negatives after a good performance from the players.
"That was another very good test for us," he told Pools Player.
"It was a different kind of game to the Sunderland fixture; there were lots of players dropping in to space and a lot of quality play from both Middlesbrough and our lads.
"It's a new shape that we're playing and we've worked on it a lot - tonight I thought we created a lot of good chances, especially with that diagonal ball to Steve Howard and runners off him.
"The first goal was excellent build-up and the second was great delivery and header, we've made two mistakes which have cost us goals which is something to work on.
"We finished the game really strongly though which was good and the majority of the players got ninety minutes as I'd been hoping for so we're pleased."
