Pools return to FA Youth Cup action tonight with a mouth-watering Third Round tie against Huddersfield Town at Victoria Park (7pm kick-off).The youngsters will be chomping at the bit to get out on the field having seen their last two league fixtures fall foul of the weather over recent weekends.
John Hewitson's men have also been starting to hit top form and will go in to tonight's big game having won on four of their last five outings.
But the visitors will also be keen to make it through to Round Four where the opportunity increases to be handed an exciting tie against some of the country's elite.
"We're on a good run and we want to take that in to tonight's game," Hewitson told us.
"The boys can't wait to get out there and get going because it's been very frustrating to see our last two games postponed.
"But hopefully that will mean we are fresh and raring to go this evening - we will need to be because Huddersfield are a good side and will give us a massive test.
"The rewards could be massive for the winner so we have to make sure that we don't leave anything in the dressing room tonight and get out there and do ourselves justice.
"I believe we can get the result we need and if we show the same spirit, desire and determination that we have in recent games then hopefully we'll be smiling come the final whistle."
The gates at Victoria Park are open to the public tonight and with admission prices of just £5 for adults and £3 for concessions, Hewitson is hoping that a big crowd can roar his team to success.
"There are big occasions for our young players and it does mean a massive amount when fans turn up in numbers to support them.
"It's going to be a hard-fought game and I think any Pools fans who come along to cheer us on will see an entertaining night of football."
We'll have team news here on the Official Website later this afternoon, plus a full report following the final whistle.
