Futsal and Education Scholarship

Hartlepool United FC is offering a unique opportunity for talented 16-17 year old football players to pursue a 2 year Futsal & Education Scholarship.

HUCSF is recruiting 17 players for two five-a-side futsal teams to compete in a North East League playing against teams from Hull, Bradford, Leeds, Scunthorpe, Huddersfield, Grimsby and Middlesbrough.

Matches will be played every fortnight on a Wednesday at a new Futsal Arena in Leeds; this will also allow players to still play for their local weekend teams.

The scholarship has impressed Pools defender Evan Horwood, who said

"I've heard all about the new Futsal scholarship with the Club and I think it sounds like a really good opportunity.

"The scholars will get to enjoy two years with the Community Sports Foundation, learning plenty of new skills and will leave with a decent qualification.

"I'd recommend any 16 - 17 year old who is interested in a career in football to take a look into the course and see if it's suitable for them."

HUCSF Development Officer Keith Nobbs said

"It's a fantastic opportunity to play competitive football while getting a first class education".
