Cooper Feels Positivity In Pools Camp

17 August 2012

Pools boss confident players can make strong home start

Neale Cooper has revealed that there has been a hugely positive atmosphere at the training ground as the squad look to hit back from the disappointment of the heavy defeat at Crewe.

The Pools boss was left livid as some poor defending put paid to his side's Capital One Cup prospects last weekend but has insisted that the team are ready to bounce back.

With Swindon Town the visitors to Victoria Park for the first game of the League One campaign, the excitement has returned for Cooper and he can't wait to get the game going.

"We're raring to go in the league and we want to get over the disappointment of last weekend," he told Pools Player

"That's in the past now - we had a good meeting on Tuesday to chat about things and everything has been really positive from then in the build-up to Saturday's game.

"We've got through a lot of positive work on the training ground this week and the last few days have been a treat for me seeing a really good response from the lads.

"Swindon are a good side but we know what we have to do - we have to have a good go at them and try to get the right result.

"We have a great backing here at The Vic and the home form is going to be so important so if the fans get behind us I'm sure we can get off to a good start."
