Dave Brown has said that the summer renovation work on the pitch is progressing well but admitted that the weather could have been kinder over recent weeks.
A cold snap just after the seeding process was completed means that it has taken a little longer than usual, but there are now shoots of green appearing across The Super 6 Stadium playing surface.
Now the ground staff are hoping for more warm weather mixed with a few showers to give them the ideal environment to cultivate a perfect pitch for 2019/20.
“At this stage it’s just about keeping it damp but hoping for some warmth too,” explained Brown.
“We’re happy with the way things have gone so far and things look good despite that few days of cold weather we had last week which wasn’t ideal.
“We’re on track though, I have given it a feed today and then hopefully by the middle to end of next week it will be ready for a first cut.”
