Match preview: Pools head to Eastleigh live on BT

Pools head to the Silverlake Stadium this weekend as they take on Eastleigh FC live on BT Sport.

The spitfires currently sit seventh in the National League, on the same amount of points as pools but one place above. Ben Strevens side finished 17th when the last season came to an end and spent the summer strengthening the squad with eight new signings arriving at Silverlake.

The new man up top Ben House has hit the ground running, scoring 5 times in October and winning National League player of the month.

Pools faced the Hampshire based side twice last season, drawing 1-1 at the Silverlake in September and them coming out victorious at The Vic in January as Holohan and Shelton goals sealed a 2-1 win.

Pools will be looking to get back on form after the last league game on BT Sport but manager Dave Challinor was encouraged by his side’s efforts in the extra-time defeat at Salford:

“We played really well and matched them for a long time. The lads have given me the reaction I wanted to see after that Torquay game and we will continue to work hard in training ahead of our trip to Eastleigh.”
