Mark Shelton will remain with Pools until the end of the season after a deal was agreed with Salford City to extend the midfielder’s loan.
The 23-year-old’s initial month was due to come to an end next weekend but the two clubs have now come to an agreement for him to remain at The Vic for the rest of the campaign.
Shelton, who scored the winner in Tuesday night’s 2-1 victory over Eastleigh, has made five appearances since joining Pools and boss Dave Challinor was keen to keep him at the Club.
“We’re absolutely delighted Mark is staying,” admitted Challinor.
“He’s come in and done really well and we think he can only get better with the more games he plays.
“He’s had a bit of a stop-start season in terms of getting a run of games but hopefully he can do that now, get fitter and he can add more goals on top of the one he got on Tuesday.”
