Hartlepool United played 45 minutes here at the Silverlake stadium before the referee decided to abandon the tie.
The rain fell down all day in Hampshire and the conditions became unplayable and it was the right and safe decision to call it off.
Neither team were able to create clear chances in the first half but we did nearly have a freak goal after seven minutes. Ravas, making his league debut, kicked the ball out of his hands, and it travelled all the way to the Eastleigh goal where Mcdonnell had to tip over.
The biggest talking point of the first half will be the unfortune injury to Luke Williams who made his first league start for Pools since 2013. The midfielder left the field of play after seventeen minutes.
After the half time whistle, with the rain still coming down, the referee evaluated the pitch and made the decision to call it off.
A reschedule of the fixture will be decided in the coming weeks.
