Dave Challinor has admitted that the work is ongoing behind the scenes as he looks to strengthen his squad for the National League run-in.
The Pools boss knows that he needs to add new recruits in the wake of Peter Kioso’s departure to Luton Town on Wednesday as well as Nicke Kabamba’s move to Kilmarnock last week.
Challinor has also had to contend with an unhelpful injury list in recent weeks so he is now pressing ahead with his efforts to add new faces – and he is hoping things can develop before the weekend.
“I think it’s obviously more pressing now in terms of getting people in,” he commented.
“I am really hopeful we will have at least one new player in by Thursday, hopefully two.
“The landscape changes every day when you speak to clubs in terms of them letting players go out if some come in so at the moment we have to do our work and wait for things to fall in to place.
“We want that to happen by Thursday so that lads can come in and train with us before potentially being involved on Saturday because we are a little light on numbers now.”
