The young attacking prospect has been with Pools since he was an Under-12 and has made constant progress as he came up through the ranks.
Comfortable playing on either wing or in a central striking role, Smith was prolific at Under-16 level and made a seamless transition in to Youth and Reserve football.
He was handed his senior debut as a late substitute against Exeter City on the final day of the 2013/14 season and was also included when the squad travelled to Spain in the pre-season of the following campaign.
He continued to impress at 2014/15 developed and he made the first of three First Team starts in the 1-0 defeat at Bury in February 2015 and was in and around the squad for the rest of the campaign.
Smith’s form for both Youth Team and First Team earned him not only the Youth Team Player of the Year award, but his first professional contract in the summer of 2015.
The determined youngster was again a regular for the Reserves during 2015/16 and also made seven more appearances for the First Team, including three starts.
