Goalkeeper Adam Bartlett was signed in the summer of 2015 following his surprising release from Gateshead at the end of the previous season.
Bartlett spent the pre-season in training with Pools and did enough to earn a deal and was expected to act as back-up to fellow new goalkeeping recruit Trevor Carson.
However, an injury to Carson on the ever of the 2015/16 campaign meant Bartlett was given his chance to shine and he helped Pools start with four wins in a row for only the second time in the Club’s history and kept three clean sheets in the process.
The Newcastle-born star came through the ranks with The Magpies whom he joined when he was just nine but he moved on to non-league Kidderminster Harriers in 2008.
He returned to the Football League with Hereford United the following summer and he spent three seasons at Edgar Street before returning to the north-east with Gateshead.
Bartlett played 138 times for The Tynesiders before his release but their loss has definitely been Pools’ gain and the shot-stopper agreed a new deal at The Vic in May 2016.
