Youth Team Set To Kick-Off New Season

Pools Youth Team get their season underway this morning with a home game against Notts County at the Riverside Sports Complex in Chestere-le-Street (11am kick-off).

Micky Barron's youngsters have enjoyed an excellent pre season, reaching the final of the Slemish Trophy at the Milk Cup tournament in July.

They rounded off their pre season preparations with a strong victory over Carlisle last Friday and will be looking to take their encouraging form in the to the league campaign.

"The boys have done ever so well so far," Barron told us.

"They have been excited and looking forward to the season so hopefully we can get off to a strong start against Notts County.

"The players have responded ever so well to what we've been showing them in training and we've seen them improving each week in pre season."

We'll have an update from Chester-le-Street after the final whistle today and a full report on the Official Website on Monday morning.
