Pools Youth Team are in action on Saturday morning when they host Notts County in the Youth Alliance League at Chester-le-Street (11am kick-off).

Micky Barron's youngsters suffered more disappointment last weekend when they saw their fixture once again called off.

But there appear to be no such weather doubts ahead of the clash with the Magpies on Saturday and Barron is looking forward to a competitive game.

And having defeated County twice already this season - once in the league and once in the FA Youth Cup - he thinks his players can approach the fixture with confidence.

"We've performed strongly on the other occasions we've played Notts County this season and we need show the same again," Barron told us.

"The lads are looking forward to it and after another postponement last week they will be raring to go come kick-off time."

Centre of Excellence

The Under 10s, 12s, 14s, and 16s are at home on Sunday and will play host to Rotherham United at Manor College - all games kick-off at 11am.

Meanwhile, the Under 9s, 11s, 13s and 15s are away and will take on Rotherham at Wath Comprehensive School (S63 7NW) with all games also beginning at 11am.
