Pools Youth Team will compete in the Grand Final of the LFE Tournament in Sweden after winning a third successive game of their tour.

After comfortable wins over IFK Sundvall (3-1) and OFK (7-0) they were pitted against Swedish top flight outfit AIK earlier today.

But they weren't a match for Barron's youngsters who put in another solid performance and won the game 1-0 thanks to a goal from Lee Mason.

"We were very disciplined during the game and we're thrilled with the win," Barron commented.

"The lads defended extremely well and limited AIK to very few opportunities, before hitting them on the counter-attack to score the winner.

"In the end we could have even scored more goals but we're pleased with the win because they are one of the best Youth Team's in Sweden according to reports."

Pools will not come up against fellow English competitors Barnsley on Thursday to see who will become champions of the LFE Tournament.

"We saw Barnsley play the other day and they're a good side," Barron explained.

"It will be a physical game I'm sure, but we're in confident mood after three wins and hopefully we can keep the run going on Thursday."
