Youth Team Suffer Friendly Defeat In Sweden

Posted on: Thu 23 Jul 2009

Micky Barron's Youth Team fell to defeat in their first pre season friendly during their LFE Tour in Sweden.

The Pools youngsters were in action against Ytterhogdals IK on Wednesday evening and were beaten 2-1 despite creating a host of chances against the Swedish outfit.

Daniel Johnson got the goal for Pools and even though they were defeated it was a game which pleased the Coach.

"It was a good workout for us and it will have helped with our match fitness," Barron commented.

"It was disappointing that we conceded two goals from set pieces but we created lots of chances at the other end and really could have at least drawn the game.

"Overall I'm quite pleased with the work we put in to it and now we can build towards the tournament at the weekend."

The LFE Tournaments starts on Saturday when Pools take on IFK Sundvall at 4pm and we'll have a full report and reaction as soon as possible here on the Official Website.
