Pools Youth Team are facing their biggest game of the season on Saturday when they host Hull City in the Youth Alliance Cup Regional Final at Victoria Park this weekend (12noon kick-off).

Micky Barron's youngsters have already done the double over their City counterparts this term, the most recent victory coming in style with a 4-2 win at Chester-le-Street last month.

However, Hull are a strong outfit and sit top of the Youth Alliance League and look odds on to clinch the title so Barron knows his players cannot take anything for granted.

"The last time we played Hull it was a much closer game than the 4-2 scoreline suggests," Barron insisted.

"They should go in to the game full of confident and I just hope they perform in the way they can and not like they did on Tuesday, which was poor.

"It's a case of making sure you put on the type of performance that you can be proud of and making sure you don't let your team-mates down.

"The lads will be giving it their all, there's no doubt about that, and we're determined to get the result and go all the way in this competition."

If Pools do overcome Hull in the weekend's game at The Vic, they will go on to play the winners of the Southern Area Final between Brighton and Colchester which is scheduled for Monday evening.

"The lads played at Victoria Park a few weeks ago and didn't play that well," Barron explained.

"But I think that will spur them on to do better this time and they're all looking forward to playing there as they don't get the chance too often.

"Hopefully they can do themselves justice and we can get the right result," he added.

Barron has just one injury concern ahead of the game, with Darryl Scaife ruled out with a back problem.

Entry to the game is free for all supporters so make sure you come along and give the Youth Team your backing this weekend.
