Neale Cooper refused to get carried away after his side extended their unbeaten run by thumping in-form Carlisle United 4-0 at Victoria Park this afternoon.

The result rarely looked in doubt once Pools had stormed in to a two-goal lead inside seventeen minutes thanks to Luke James and Antony Sweeney.

A red card for striker Lee Miller compounded the Cumbrians' woes and another goal from the incredible James and one from returning front man Colin Nish added gloss to a superb victory.

"It's been a really good week for us - the players have worked ever so hard and they've been in good spirits," Cooper told Pools Player.

"The way we started the game was fantastic and some of the football was brilliant - it was probably the best since I came back to the Club.

"The only time I really felt they were a threat was when we gave them the ball because at times we were slack in that regard.

"Everyone was superb but it was another outstanding performance from Luke James - I'm not just talking about his goals but he's just not scared of anything and to have that courage at such a young age is great.

"I knew how hard the game would be today but we played some brilliant stuff, everyone did the work they were asked to do so overall I'm so chuffed for the boys."
