James Brown will be among the substitutes for this afternoon's Reserve game against Scunthorpe United at Victoria Park (2pm kick-off).
The young star has been out of action since a knee operation at the beginning of December but returned to full training last week and will step up his rehabilitation in today's game.
Colin Larkin is also named in Colin West's squad as he looks to step up his return from a recent hamstring problem.
"We'll certainly be looking to give James and Colin some minutes under his belt," West explained.
"They've both trained well over the past week and they will certainly play some part in the game.
"I think the ideal scenario is to get James around half an hour and perhaps give Colin a little more but we'll have to see how the game develops."
Pools will be looking to avenge two defeats to Scunthorpe earlier in the season and after registering three impressive wins on the bounce, West expects confidence to be high.
"I'm looking forward to the game and players should be as well," he told us.
"I know they have beaten us in the league and cup already this season but I thought we were unfortunate not to get at least a draw in the game at their place.
"We know it will be a physical game and a tough one but I'm looking for the lads to emulate what they've been doing in recent fixtures.
"We've defended well and enjoyed a couple of clean sheets so we want to build on that now and see the lads in the Reserves push on," he added.
Kick-off is at 2pm at Victoria Park and we'll have all the latest here on the Official Website.
