Reserves Knocked Out Of County Cup
Pools Reserves went out of the Durham County Cup at Victoria Park after a good second half comeback by visitors Durham City.
Matty Tymon had put a young Pools side in front just after the quarter hour mark when he seized on a rebound when the ball hit the cross bar and the lads looked on course for a victory.
However, City had other ideas and came roaring back after half time and grabbed the equaliser just before the hour when Steven Richardson fired home.
And it got worse for Pools when former Billingham Town man Jamie Clarke converted a spot-kick on 68 minutes to send the Arngrove Northern League side through to Round Two.
Pools tried to get back in to the game but could not find another way through and their Durham County Cup campaign stuttered at the first hurdle.
