Reserves Run Out Winners At Darlington
Michael Mackay grabbed the only goal of the game as Pools Reserves ran out winners in their trip to local rivals Darlington.
The striker - fresh from scoring the all-important equaliser in the First Team's draw with Carlisle - netted after fifteen minutes against the Quakers and it proved decisive.
It was a game of few chances but Pools bossed the opening half but could not kill the game off and Darlington came back in to it after the break.
Mackay's goal came when the hosts were caught out by a free-kick move straight off the training ground and the front man crept in down the side to finish neatly.
Darlington thought they'd grabbed an equaliser near the death when the Quakers front man went round Arran Lee-Barrett but the impressive Ben Clark got back to clear off the line.
Pools Reserves have now won three out of three after a slow start to the season for Ian Butterworth's men.
