Tough-tackling full-back Dylan Purvis was released by Sunderland in 2008 and picked up by Pools where he became a regular in the Youth Team.
Coach Micky Barron kept a close eye on his progress as he showed a real desire to improve his game and his attitude for hard work.
Most comfortable at right-back, the youngster can also operate effectively on the left and his no-nonsense style made him a regular in the Reserves during the early part of the 2009/2010 campaign.
He also travelled with the First Team for the game at Southend United in December 2009 as the Club's hierarchy continued to monitor his progress. He signed his first professional contract with the Club during the summer of 2010.
