He was a key member of the Youth Team squad which reached the semi-finals of the Dallas Cup in 2007 and was soon emerging as a real prospect.
His progress in the Youth Team and then in to the Reserve Side prompted the Club to move to sign him on professional terms earlier than usual and he penned a deal in January 2008 despite other clubs showing an interest.
He has become a regular in the centre of midfield for the Reserves where he is attacking instincts often unsettle opposition defences.
He made his First Team debut in a Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie against Leicester City in September 2008 and made a full start for the first time in a December visit to Hereford.
A positive player who likes nothing more than taking players on, Rowell is rated very highly by the management at Victoria Park.
