Promising defender Godwin has been at Liverpool since 2005 when he moved to Anfield from Spanish side Real Zaragoza.
Last season he spent time on loan with Accrington Stanley where he impressed Danny Wilson when in the opposition - so much so that he moved quickly to bring him to The Vic on a season-long loan.
The popular, quietly spoken centre-back believes in a strong work ethic and his physical presence will be a real boost to the Pools back-line this term.
