Snapped up from Manchester United in the summer of 2008, Ritchie showed his desire to play for Pools by turning his back on moves to a host of other clubs.
He was released from Old Trafford at the end of the 2006/2007 campaign having made five appearances for the Red Devils, in the FA Cup and Carling Cup.
However, during his time with United he also enjoyed loan spells with Barnsley, Colchester United and latterly Yeovil Town where he spent the first half of last season.
A central midfield player with lots of energy and an eye for a pass, Danny Wilson was quick to make his move for the player when he became a free agent.
