The versatile and talented schemer joined Pools from Middlesbrough just after the start of the 2006/2007 season and made his debut in a Carling Cup tie at Burnley.
He was a revelation during his first few months with the Club and played a huge role in promotion from League Two with some classy displays in the centre of midfield which earned him joint Player of the Year with Michael Nelson.
His performances in midfield evened out at the higher level and it wasn't until he was switched back in to the centre of defence during the pre season of 2009/2010 that he started to sparkle once again.
His composed approach to defending saw him make a place in the back four his own as Pools kept fourteen clean sheets in League One.
A local lad with a lot of energy, Liddle signed a new contract with the Club during the summer of 2009.
