The 6ft 4ins goalkeeper moved to Pools during the summer of 2009 following his release from Crystal Palace.
Flinders started his career with Barnsley and made his league debut for the Tykes in March 2005 against Peterborough.
Later that year the agile shot stopper was capped by England Under 20s and soon attracted the attention of Eagles boss Peter Taylor who took him to Selhurst Park in July 2006.
However, competition was tough at Palace and he made just 14 appearances for the Club in three years, though he did gain league experience with loan spells with Gillingham, Brighton, Yeovil and Falkirk.
