A versatile performer, Clark joined Pools from near neighbours Sunderland in October 2004 after five years at the Stadium of Light.
He arrived with a real pedigree having captained England Under 19s at the European Championships in Norway and also represented his country at both Under 15 and Under 18 levels.
Comfortable either in the centre of midfield or defence, Clark has become one of the most consistent performers and is well thought of by the fans at The Vic.
His partnership with Michael Nelson at the back in the 2006/2007 promotion season helped the Club keep a record-breaking 25 clean sheets though he finished the 2008/2009 campaign back in midfield highlighting his versatility.
