Ben was signed from Sunderland in October 2004 after five years at the Stadium of Light. He captained England Under 19s in a Championship in Norway and has also represented his country at Under 15 and Under 18 levels.
After a stuttering start to his Pools career, he has now become a real fans favourite at Victoria Park and has been one of the most consistent performers during the past three seasons.
Out of the side at the start of the 2007/2008 campaign, Clark quickly fought his way back in to contention but, despite some solid performances, injury restricted him to just 14 league starts during a frustrating spell.
Ben grabbed his first goal for Pools in the 2-0 victory at Bristol Rovers in December 2006 though it's his defensive play and reading of the game for which he is more noted.
