The Pools Study Support Centre was host to the first of its Summer schools this week with Y7 students from across the town taking part.

The participating students spent four days at Victoria Park getting to grips with the latest video technology to create a DVD to be shown at the forthcoming Tall Ships event.

Following intensive research at the Historic Quay, Marina and Tall Ships Village the students developed an informative and entertaining script for their promotional video.

As the Tall Ships will be arriving here from Kristiansand in Norway, who better to help the students with their research than Pools' Norwegian midfielder Jon-Andre Fredriksen.

Jon-Andre popped into the Study Centre to teach the students some key Norwegian phrases to be recorded in the Pools Studio.

The youngsters found that speaking Norwegian is not easy but with Jon Andre's help they managed it.

The final video entitled 'Enjoy the Tall Ships, Enjoy Hartlepool!' will be shown (complete with Norwegian phrases) in the Tall Ships Village from 7^th-10^th August.
